Along the beaches between Playa Cocles, where Cariblue is located, and Manzanillo, there is a lovely horseback riding and hiking trail. Weaving between the jungle and the beach, this ride will give you spectacular views of the lovely tropical beaches, the deep blue Caribbean Sea, and the lush coastal jungle. Along the way, there are lots of great swimming spots, several small streams, secluded beaches and small coastal communities.

Beyond Manzanillo, our experienced guides can lead you on horseback riding tours of the Gandoca-Manzanillo wildlife preserve. Go beyond the road on horseback, by far the most comfortable and easiest way to explore the jungle. This wonderful pristine wilderness area is home to lots of exotic wildlife, including the howler monkeys, sloths, anteaters, frogs, and other amazing jungle creatures. You will pass by several small farms and Punta Mona Center for Sustainable Living and Education. Beyond Punta Mona, there is a long stretch of isolated beach where the great sea turtles come to lay their eggs. During the turtle season, you can even take turtle watching tours to see this spectacular event.

In the other direction from Cariblue, along the short stretch of coast between Playa Cocles and Puerto Viejo, there is a very nice horseback riding and hiking trail which leads along the beach and through groves of coco palms. Horseback riding is a great way to explore the beaches near Puerto Viejo and beyond.
