From the finely-carved finished hardwood pillars in the rancho restaurant to the beautiful mosaic work done by renowned French artist Lu Lu Berlu which graces the wall behind the bar, every detail is packed full of quality. Cariblue is not just a hotel, it is a work of art contributed to by many local artists. The tropical gardens are exquisitely landscaped, planted with rare tropical plants, flowers and lush green jungle plants.

To give just a small example, the floors of the porches of our new rooms are made of Chonta, or Walking Palm. This is the finest quality flooring material available in Costa Rica. The Chonta trunk is split into strips which are incredibly durable, then lacquered with a deep varnish to protect it from the elements. The result is a floor which wills last decades, even in the tropical rainforest.

Many of our bathrooms have unique mosaic work done by international artists. Our rooms have high spacious ceilings, and great care has been taken to make them mosquito-proof.
