About Punta Mona Costa Rica
Punta Mona is a perm culture
farm and nature resort located on the coast between
Manzanillo and Gandoca. Surrounded by the
Gandoca wildlife reserve, with no roads (at least,
not that you can drive on) leading to it, Punta
Mona is a unique place to experience the jungle.
Punta Mona on one of the most pristine beaches in
the area.
Accessible only by boat or by hiking
through the jungle, the beach gets little traffic
and is nearly untouched. The trail leading out to
Punta Mona leads through beautiful coastal rainforest
with lots of wildlife. Punta Mona is about 2-3 hours
hike from Manzanillo. Boat trips can also be arranged
out to Punta Mona from Manzanillo, ask for Captain
Baco.
Punta Mona itself is a working
organic perm culture farm with over 30 hectares
of excellent rainforest land. People from all over
the world come to Punta Mona to learn and practice
sustainable agriculture, renewable resources, and
good healthy jungle living. Annual perm culture
courses are held at Punta Mona, often bringing in
30-40 students for a two week total perm culture
experience.
